Spring 5.2.9 & More: Maintenance releases
What’s This About?
The following core Spring framework maintenance releases saw the light of day on September 15, 2020: 5.2.9, 5.1.18, 5.0.19, and 4.3.29. We didn’t get new Spring Boot releases.
What’s in the Release?
It’s all bug fixes & improvements, as my iPhone app update notes like to say:
- Spring 5.2.9: 42 fixes and improvements
- Spring 5.1.18: 16 fixes and improvements
- Spring 5.0.19: 13 fixes and improvements
- Spring 4.3.29: 9 fixes and improvements
Should I Upgrade?
Yes, if you use Spring directly, otherwise wait for the next Spring Boot release.
Where Can I Get It?
You update the version numbers in your Maven/Gradle build files. Please tell me that nobody uses Ant anymore!
When Is the Next Big Spring Release Due?
The next major release of Spring, Spring 5.3 ("the one with GraalVM Native Image support"), is scheduled for October 27, 2020:
