JHipster released a minor update of its Java application generator on November 7, 2020.
This release patches a vulnerability in the Undertow web server (here and here[https://github.com/jhipster/generator-jhipster/pull/12956]). Three bug fixes are in, too: “Fix ExtendWith annotation for Redis cache”, “Change jdl command to use main branch “), and “Exclude translation of DataAccessException when there’s no database” ( here and here).
No, unless you need this security patch or the bug fixes. JHipster upgrades regenerate your project. That’s why they are at least a minor hassle.
You upgrade JHipster with npm install -g generator-jhipster.
JHipster 7.0 is the next big release. After being down to two remaining issues, it’s now back to three again. With just five weeks to the holidays, I think JHipster 7.0 will be an early 2021 release.
